UVS General Manager Offshore Oil & Gas, Mark Musarra has congratulated Total Marine Technology (TMT) on the delivery of two Typhoon Mk2 ROVs for Brazil as part of a five year contract with the giant Brazilian energy company, Petrobras.

The ROVs were designed, built and operated by Total Marine Technology a Perth based company. TMT is the only company designing and building work class ROVs in Australia, and who also provide offshore ROV operation services. The company has been operating since 1999 and employs around 300 people on and offshore.

Mark said that UVS Perth had been pleased to work with TMT to supply a number of items of equipment and components to support the TMT manufacturing program. Supplies for the Work Class ROVs have included Kongsberg Marine cameras, Kongsberg Mesotech sonars, Deep Sea Power & Light lighting products and Focal electro-optic slip rings. “The extensive UVS product portfolio and our long-standing agreements with OEM suppliers such as Kongsberg, Deep Sea Power & Light and Focal enables UVS to supply a complete range of equipment to meet the needs of TMT and TMT customers”, said Mark.

Perth is an active Offshore Oil & Gas centre and the cluster of suppliers, designers, manufacturers and operators in Perth makes for an efficient business and industry model. “We have enjoyed working closely with TMT on this project”, said Mark, “and our close physical proximity in Bibra Lake has enabled UVS and TMT to build and maintain a strong relationship while working to meet tight delivery timelines”.
