Even a “Workhorse” eventually needs to step aside and leave the hard work to the next generation

As of December 31, 2018, Teledyne RDI will no longer offer the long-standing Workhorse Rio Grande ADCP for purchase.

Service and repair all existing Rio Grande ADCP will continue until January 2024, so there will be an extended period to transition to a newer ADCP product.

Teledyne RDI apologises for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately, component obsolescence drives this issue as technology continues to advance.

As an upgrade guide:

– RiverRay ADCP replaces the Rio Grande 600.

– RiverPro ADCP replaces the Rio Grande 1200.

Owners of our Rio Grande 1200 also have the option of upgrading their unit to the RioPro configuration, which replaces the Rio Grande electronics with  RiverPro electronics. Along with the standard Rio Grande features, the RioPro upgrade offers users the benefit of auto-adaptive sampling, wireless Bluetooth communications, embedded GPS for geo-referencing, and manual modes.
